I think the flying minerals in the pre-alpha inspired the flying minerals in the StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm mission called "With friends like these".

I watched this cut scene again on MoP Remix and it's still great.

I do miss this old Blizzard style of cinematic where they were only loosely associated with the plot of the game and were more like mini stories that fleshed out the universe and added some charm.

This is why Stormgate will fail. Starcraft had all their units, buildings, tech structers from the START. Everything was clearly mapped out. FG looks like they are just making up Stormgate as they go lol
